Congrats to the CatCon Awards Winners!

CatCon 2017 just closed the kitty door on another pawsome event. Its new location (Pasadena Convention Center) and all-star lineup of celebrities and celebri-cats, were part of what made this year’s CatCon the best yet. Another (huge) reason the largest convergence of cats and pop culture was so memorable is the the inclusion of the first annual CatCon Awards Presented by the Maker of FRONTLINE® Gold. Addison Riecke and Lizzy Greene, BFFs in real life, presented the Besties award!

We honored the best and brightest cats in five categories, all nominated by YOU, our fans and followers.  The show, which took place in the historic Pasadena Civic Auditorium (Michael Jackson debuted the Moonwalk there during the Motown Awards!), was hosted by Tricia Helfer (“Battlestar Galactica”, “Lucifer”) and featured Moshow the Cat Rapper, Cats of Instagram, Luna Rose, Aaron Benitez and Phil (“Aaron’s Animals”), Addison Riecke (‘The Thundermans”) and Lizzy Greene  (“Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn”).

With such a super selection of entries, it was difficult to choose winners, but here’s a rundown of who came out on top for the inaugural CatCon awards.

Biggest Newcomer: Sir Thomas Trueheart

“Tommy” is no stranger to the spotlight. Milo’s Sanctuary rescued him and saved his life after he was a victim of human cruelty. Now he lives at a Lifetime Care Foster home, is a spokescat for the abused and forgotten, and has accumulated over 10,000 Instagram followers.

Besties: Jasmine Lil Kitty

Who lives in LA, enjoys outdoor adventures with her BFFs,  and likes to get her nails done? Kate Hudson? Julianne Hough? Sure, but we’re talkin’ ‘bout Jasmine Lil Kitty, the recipient of this year’s Besties award.

Freshest Loaf: Rocky

There’s no fresher ginger loaf than Rocky, who shares his Wisconsin home with feline siblings Harvey and Luna. When he’s not busy further mastering the perfect loaf, he’s curled up in a sun puddle or chewing on a plastic comb.

Best Vocalist: Phoebe

Phoebe’s happy and she knows it!  As presenter Moshow joked when he accepted the award on her behalf, she was busy cutting her new album and couldn’t attend the ceremony.

Video of the Year: Maverick, the Skeptical Cat

Invasion of the Body Snatchers, the feline version? Maverick isn’t so sure when he lays his eyes on a lookalike pillow.
Congratulations to all the winners!
