8 Senior Cats with Zero Patience for Your Nonsense
November is Adopt a Senior Pet month, so we thought it’d be the purr-fect time to elicit some pearls of wisdom from felines who have some experience under their furry belts, including the CatCon Muse, who is herself a Golden Girl at almost 14.
Listen up, kittens — these eight Grandmas and Grandpas have some advice for GenZ!

“If you can’t say anything nice, ignore everyone.”

“Don’t be afraid to try new things, but always keep your bottom groomed — you never know when you’ll run into an eligible tom.”

“Stop your bitching already. When I was your age, we had to wait for the human to OPEN the can with some kind of mechanical device – you’ve got it E.A.S.Y.”

“Cover up your own litter box business — nobody gets a free ride.”

“If you’re hungry and the human is sleeping, meow loudly and paw at their face — it’s the polite thing to do, and manners don’t cost a thing.”

“Hairballs happen and there’s no shame in that.”

“It’s important to save for a rainy day. Store straws, hair ties, and milk jug rings under the sofa– you never know when you’ll need them.”

“The Rule of the Black Pants (or really any type of black clothing): Your human left them out so you have an obligation to nap on them as long as you see fit.”
Remember, when you adopt a senior, you get the benefit of cat who’s been around the block and can teach us all a thing or two. Also, don’t forget to call your own grandparents, always carry a handkerchief, and remember to wear clean underwear– you never know if you’ll be in an accident.
